Privacy Policy for Mission Zero
1 | Overview |
Any employees, volunteers, directors and/or responsible persons (“Mission Zero Representatives”) of Mission Zero must not act in a manner contrary to the interests of Mission Zero.

This policy applies to all Mission Zero stakeholders. For the purpose of this policy, stakeholder includes:”
- Those who have contacted Mission Zero through any of its representatives and shared own personal information
- Those who are involved with Mission Zero through their programs, support or volunteer network
- Those whose personal information stored with Mission Zero
- Those who have sought any help from Mission Zero
- Those who work with Mission Zero
And are referred to as ‘You or Your’ in this policy document.
For the purpose of this policy, a Mission Zero Representatives includes:
- permanent employees (including full time and part time);
- fixed term employees;
- casual employees;
- temporary agency staff;
- volunteers; and
- directors
engaged by Mission Zero.
4 | What is a Personal Information ? |
Mission Zero collects personal information e.g. name, contact details through our websites, cookies, mailing lists and event registrations, and social networking services such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. We use this information to improve our website and receive feedback from the community.
Sometimes, Mission Zero may be contacted by beneficiaries whose information may be collected and stored as personal information.
Mission Zero will not collect sensitive information like information about your health, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, criminal history, genetic or biometric information.
7 | How will Personal Information will be managed ? |
- The personal information will be managed according to Australian Privacy Principles under this Privacy Policy.
- When subscribing to one of our mailing lists, you will be asked to give your express consent that mailing software may use your data for analytics purposes. We also use event registration websites to manage our event registrations who have their own privacy policies.
- To ensure that the personal information we collect is accurate, up-to-date and complete we record information in a consistent format and promptly add updated or new personal information to existing records
- Storage and security of personal information: Such personal information will be stored in an online database at Mission Zero. We take steps to protect the security of the personal information we hold from both internal and external threats by regularly assessing the risk of misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure of that information.
- We destroy personal information in a secure manner when we no longer need it or when you submit a written request to delete your records with us.
- Accessing and correcting your personal information: Upon written request, in most cases we must give you access to the personal information that we hold about you, and take reasonable steps to correct it if we consider it is incorrect.
- Disclosure of personal information:
- Personal information is treated in a confidential manner.
- Your information may be accessible to our representatives, Advisers and service providers (like those that host our website servers, manage our IT and manage our human resources information). As well, web traffic information we collect using Google Analytics may be stored overseas.
- We may disclose your information to your GP or mental health service provider. We don’t disclose information about you unless you agree, or would reasonably expect us to.
- In case of management of vulnerable beneficiaries, we are under obligation to disclose your personal information to GPs or mental health service providers and our Mental Health Advisers.
8 | A breach of the policy |
Failure to comply with the policy by Mission Zero employee may lead to disciplinary action being taken by Mission Zero, including the warnings, termination of employment, or both.

The policy will be reviewed annually with inputs from all stakeholders and necessary changes will be made accordingly.
