Our Approach

We focus on simplifying access to preventative mental health, so it’s within everyone’s reach.
We believe that achieving mental well-being is a top priority for individuals and communities.
Starting from youths, we plan to empower every individual with tools to raise awareness about mental health, build psychological strength and inspire hope, so they can seek or offer support right when and where it is needed the most and, save lives.

Our ABC Principles:

  • Accelerate awareness and importance of Psychological well-being
  • Build emotional resiliency
  • Collaborate to synergize

To address youth suicide head-on, first step is to create accelerated awareness of psychological health includes educating youth at schools, Universities and communities by creating a platform where youth feel they are heard, valued, equipped and supported. By raising awareness through such education, importance of mental well-being is emphasized in new light. This will reduce social stigma about mental health so that youth and families are more likely to know when and where to seek help. Second aspect is raising self- awareness using simple techniques, so individuals can self-identify any psychological changes and assess if they or people around them need help. We also further plan to develop public awareness campaigns that promote mental health conversations, reduce stigma and advocate mental well-being as priority. This three pronged awareness approach will educate people on how to seek help, encourage those at risk to seek help and hence will help reduce suicide ideation.

Building emotional resiliency includes sharing simple, proven, strengths-based approaches which individuals can readily apply in everyday situations to promote mental well-being, enhancing overall resiliency of the individual, family and community. Building over self-awareness, from a place of strength at the individual and group level, we plan to create a support network which youth can rely on and are comfortable accessing without any stigma.

Collaborate to develop meaningful and respectful partnerships between such support networks and Health Services, other Not-for-profits operating in Mental Health and communities to establish comprehensive and coordinated approaches.  It means Mission Zero working together with them shoulder-to-shoulder to ease and improve access to preventative and intervention mental health support services to prevent youth suicide and also providing immediate support for youth or communities during a suicidal crisis. Collaboration also incorporates use of technology-based solutions, identify and implement innovative models of service delivery, including telephone service, phone, text and chat support and mobile teams in order to provide enhanced supports in rural and remote communities and other areas not currently served by various mental health services. In Fully developed collaboration would include sharing experiences, knowledge and data to inform and improve approaches to youth mental health and suicide prevention.

After youth, we will expand our focus and services for other age groups.
